Unbelievable!?

Sometime in September, an unnamed donor gave a large sum of money to the organization we work with. A large sum - I mean a large sum indeed - 50 million dollars in all! Can you imagine such a gift at such a time as we live in? What with economic downturn, stock market free fall, unemployment and similar woes? This gift was totally unexpected, and what a blessing this is to our organization; it came at just the right time for a new project.

I don't expect to receive such a large gift, ever. But it's not the large gift that is important here. It is much more the fact that a large gift of money came from one of God's people to support the Lord's work at the right time - and we all know that God's time is always right, and is always independent of circumstances, economic or otherwise.

We live by donations, and have lived this way for 38 years now. The Lord has allowed us to live and work with necessary supplies. And a few times the Lord has surprised us with a large gift too. Such gifts always came unexpectedly, yet always when we were at the "bottom of the barrel," so to speak.

This large gift to our organization at this bleak time and previous unexpectedly large gifts that we received teach me again: the Lord will take care of our financial needs even in this time when the Dollar is decreasing against the Euro. We have lost about 30 cents on every Euro in the last four months. But that is no problem for the Lord. He knows our needs. He also knows the best time to send unexpected financial help. We will continue to trust our great God, who is invisible, inaudible and intangible to the natural senses. But with our hearts we can trust such a God. He has proven throughout history and to us that He is indeed all-powerful, all-knowing and present everywhere at all times.

Our God is great!
